The idea of spending $200 a month on a home in an otherwise boring town in northern California is hard to resist, but there’s one place where I would say this home-buyer could make the most money.
For starters, the desert mall, as we know it, is a thing.
And there’s no better place to find it than at Calpitola Mall, the sprawling shopping center in Southern California that opened its doors in the 1970s.
This mall is just a 20-minute drive from downtown Los Angeles, but the best part is that Calpitolas mall is located in a small town.
Located in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains, the town of Palmdale has a population of just over 12,000, and the mall is the only mall within a five-minute driving distance of the city.
The mall is one of the most popular malls in the world, with more than 6 million people coming to visit in 2012, according to a 2012 study from the U.S. Census Bureau.
It’s also one of my favorite shopping destinations, with the vast majority of visitors opting to shop at one of Calpitolas stores.
This shopping experience has its perks, too.
Calpets is located on a lake, and while the mall itself is just outside the town limits, the mall offers an indoor swimming pool, beach volleyball, and other indoor sports activities.
Calpitolan also has a shopping center on its campus, which is a nice perk, as well.
One of the best parts of the shopping experience is that, unlike most malls, the parking lot at Calpits is actually open for business.
This makes for a pretty nice and relaxing shopping experience, especially if you don’t want to get caught up in the crowds.
